This transcript started with a compilation put together by Harold Flint in the 1970's. He used burial permits 1862-1967 from East Providence and vital records from 1643-1862 from Rehoboth, Swansea and Seekonk. He also consulted relatives. Also used was a small notebook (7" x 4") titled 'List of Lots showing burials in those lots. It was used by the caretaker to know where graves could be dug. The cemetery management over the years has been less than ideal. The last page of the lot book says: "There are numerous instances where no burials are found to have been made in the various lots. This is due to no record having been kept as a cemetery record and more significantly because no lot numbers were designated on the burial permits. It has become known through reliable sources that burials were made where there had been a previous burials and that residue from that burial were disposed of by 'throwing it over the bank.' Such residue included not only the skeleton remains but often casket handles and name plates."
